British eventer William Fox-Pitt has returned to England after staying in a hospital in France for 3 weeks. He had suffered a head trauma when he fell at a fence during the cross-country at Le Lion d’Angers on 17 October. His situation was critical and at 30 October William’s condition has improved enough for him to be moved out of the intensive care unit.
His wife Alice says “His recovery is likely to take time, but he is up and about and improving day by day. We are exceptionally grateful for the huge amount of support we have received.” The family asks for privacy as William recovers. William Fox-Pitt won team silver and individual bronze at the World Equestrian Games in 2014. Currently he stands at number three in the world eventing rankings. We wish him all the best with his recovery.
